Coming together in the summer of 2006, Third to Last met in halves. Mike Stackhouse (vocals/guitar) who was lifelong friends with Chris Brittingham (bass) met twin brothers Nick Braskey (guitar) and Nate Braskey (percussion). Mike, who had been writing and recording, had some songs written, which the band picked up to play in a small performance in the local coffee house Chaplins: The Music Caf. Being freshmen in high school, the band did not come across many opportunities to play. Four years later, all the members are now attending college. During the fall and spring semesters, the band is separated, but the summer months now provide plenty of time for recording a solid album and playing out.

Oh Third to Last... Mike Stackhouse's alternative/hard rock creation. At first they were a little hard to get into because of Stackhouse's rough yet addictive voice. I've come to the conclusion that everyone will think his voice is strange at first, but if they give it time and attention, it will grow on them and never leave. You then have the simple-sounding yet complex rhythms that sometimes, really get stuck in your head. The bass seemingly just follows the guitars for the most part.. acting as a sound "densifier." Overall, Third to Last supplies the listener with catchy, sometimes heavy, and fun songs that can build up multiple listens in your itunes if you give them time to grow. Recommended.
